Migrations to Shopify
Switching to Shopify from another platform is about more than just transferring data - it’s about making a strategic move for better scalability, simplicity, and performance.
Whether you’re migrating from WooCommerce, Magento, BigCommerce, Squarespace, PrestaShop, or another platform, we ensure the process is smooth and tailored to your store’s needs.

Why choose us.
for Migrations to Shopify
Migration Experience
We've performed several successful migrations to Shopify, from other platforms. Ranging from stores that are at the start of their growth journey, to larger businesses with high-traffic websites. Because a migration is a process with a lot of challenges, our experience on it enables us to predict what could prove complex, and to see obstacles ahead.
We've also kept working with these stores after Day 1 on Shopify, which let us see how the store progresses after the migration.
Customized Scripts
Instead of a "one size fits all" migration that a lot of services offer, we have our own custom scripts. While generic services migrate the main bulk of data, they can't go into the details that make up the data of a store with specific needs and existing customizations. And every iteration of transfer can take many hours, which can delay the project.
That's why we have our own existing migration that's expanding and improving with every migration. It ensures that 100% of the data will be transferred over, and the transfer can be repeated multiple times.
Shopify Expertise
Migrating data isn't the only part of replatforming. You need someone who's actually experienced with the new platform, and will guide you on the best possible solution for every feature of the site, and every operation.
Because we're not generalists and we work exclusively with Shopify, we can propose the best way to handle every aspect of creating the new store. This saves costs, sets your business up for maximum scalability, and results in an immediate improvement across several metrics on the new site.
No Hacks and Tricks
Unfortunately we've seen many cases where agencies perform migrations without putting in the actual work. They install costly apps that lock down the store to certain third parties. They avoid doing the the custom work that it takes to have a scalable and optimized site.
We want to ensure success on the new platform for many years. Our philosophy is to use custom work where it will return the investment soon, and only use apps when the initial cost of a custom solution is excessive. We'll save you from mistakes that will cost the business thousands every year.

Our process.
Existing site analysis
We begin by analyzing your current website, identifying potential challenges such as custom fields, unique data structures, or integrations. This ensures a tailored migration plan that addresses the specifics of your store.
Data migration
Using advanced tools and custom scripts, we transfer critical data, including products, customers, orders, and media. All elements, such as categories and attributes, are accurately restructured for Shopify.
Shopify configuration
Once data is transferred, we configure Shopify settings to match your business needs. This includes setting up taxes, shipping methods, and payment gateways to ensure seamless functionality.
Post-migration optimization
After launch, we optimize your new Shopify store, making adjustments to improve performance and user experience. We also provide ongoing support to help you adapt to the new platform.
Tools and methods.
Shopify bulk operations API
The bulk operations API allows large amounts of data to be imported to Shopify in a short amount of time.
Bulk queries and bulk mutations are a core part of our scripts. Uploading can save hours, and quick bulk reads can download data for further processing.
We sometimes supplement it by creating CSV files, or standard Shopify Admin API mutations.
Custom migration scripts
Custom scripts allow us to efficiently transfer any type of complex data from various platforms into Shopify. Products, customers, orders, etc.
Whether it’s BigCommerce’s product filtering system or WooCommerce's custom taxonomies, these scripts can adapt to any need.
Their execution is much faster than regular store migration services, which lets us repeat it multiple times and easily correct any errors.
Feasibility and requirements gathering
The most important part of replatforming is to ensure that the store's operations will be fully supported by the new platform.
Another critical part is to determine how these features and operations will be implemented on the new store.
Our process involves thorough investigation of the previous site, to mitigate risks, save costs, and ensure a smooth transition, before the main work starts.
Frequently Asked Questions.
How do you handle custom features?
For custom features, we have a 3-step logic:
- Start by using native features. Sometimes what seems to be complicated, can already be solved with Shopify's tools.
- If that's not enough, consider the cost of building a custom but native-compatible solution.
- If the cost does not justify the return from custom work, we'll research and use the best possible existing app.
Will my SEO rankings be affected?
We implement 301 redirects, replicate metadata, and optimize content to help your SEO rankings remain intact during the migration. Our approach minimizes any risk of traffic loss.
We'll also discuss with you on how much you want the content to be changed. Most migrations we perform initially don't have any changed content. This way search engines see the same page, and have no reason to lower its rankings.
And, a lot of times, SEO rankings are significantly improved on the new site.
Can you migrate non-product content like blog posts?
Yes, we can migrate non-product content, including blogs, pages, and media files. We ensure all content is properly formatted and fully functional on Shopify.
With Shopify Admin APIs, we have import access to 99.9% of the different types of data.
And when you're migrating from a self-hosted platform, we also have access to 100% of your database to export.
How long does the migration process take?
The timeline depends on the complexity of your current store, but most migrations are completed within 3–6 weeks. This includes data transfer, creating features, configuring the new store, testing, and a post-launch period.
